From Osaka/Kobe
●Hanwa Expressway (approximately 3 hours)
→ Exit at Nanki Tanabe I.C. towards Route 42 (Shingu/Shirahama)
→ Turn left at the Tennoike intersection onto Prefectural Route 207
→ Turn left at the Tanabe City Kamimaro intersection onto Kumano Bridge/Prefectural Route 216
→ Turn right at the Shimomisu intersection onto Prefectural Route 35
→ Turn left at the Fukami Bashi Higashi intersection onto National Route 311 (towards Shingu/Nakahechi)
→ Continue for approximately 40 km, and you will find Kumano Shikitei on your right.
●Hanwa Expressway (approximately 3 hours)
The route from Arida I.C. offers a more affordable toll fee and takes you through mountainous areas for approximately 130 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the natural scenery.
●Minami-Hanna Expressway(approximately 3.5 hours)
The route from Katsuragi I.C, which takes approximately 130 minutes on local roads, is recommended for those coming from the Nara area
Along the way, you can enjoy stops at Totsukawa Onsen, Tousenjii Onsen (featuring foot baths and roadside stations), a scenic boat ride through Dorokyo Gorge, and a visit to Tamaki Shrine.
From Nagoya
●Kise Expressway
→ Exit at Kumano Oodomari IC and turn left onto Oodomari Bypass/National Route 42 (towards Tanabe/Shingu)
→ Turn right at the Tateishi Minami intersection towards Yunokuchi Onsen/Seiryuso and continue on Route 311 for 25 km
→ At the T-junction, turn left from Route 311 onto Route 169 towards Tanabe/Shingu
→ At the T-junction, turn right from Route 311 onto Route 168 towards Hongu
→ Turn left at the Hongu intersection and enter the Dainichiyama Tunnel
→ Continue straight for 5 km, and you will find Kumano Shikitei on your right.
From Kansai International Airport
●Kansai International Airport Access Bridge / National Route 481
→ Towards "Kansai International Airport Access Bridge / National Route 481"
→ Proceed on the Kansai Airport Expressway (6.5 km)
→ Stay in the right lane at Izumisano JCT towards "Sennan/Wakayama"
→ Continue on the Matsubara-Nachikatsuura Line for 75 km
→ Exit at Nanki Tanabe IC
→ After passing through the Nanki Tanabe Toll Booth, turn left at the "Tanabe Interchange Entrance" intersection
→ Turn left at the Tennoike intersection onto Prefectural Route 207
→ Turn left at the Tanabe City Kamimaro intersection onto Prefectural Route 216
→ Turn right at the Shimomisu intersection onto Prefectural Route 35
→ Turn left at the Fukami Bashi Higashi intersection onto National Route 311 and continue for 40 km
You will find Kumano Shikitei on your right.

By Public Transportation
From Tanabe or Shirahama
Ryujin Bus Kumano Hongu Line
Tanabe Station→toward Kumano Hongu→get off at Kogomori bus stop (approx. 70 minutes)
Buses run approximately once an hour. Please check the return schedule before you go out.
From Kumano Hongu Taisha
It takes approximately 15 minutes towards Tanabe. Get off at Kogomori Bus Stop, and you will find it immediately.
